BrainlessITC Gift Cards for WooCommerce lets you sell digital gift cards in minutes. Customers choose an amount, write a personal message and the recipient receives a beautiful email with a unique code. The code is redeemed on the cart or checkout page, any remaining balance stays on the card for the next order.
Gift cards work like a payment, not like a coupon: they are applied after taxes and shipping, so your tax reports stay correct.

- Install and activate WooCommerce.
- Upload the plugin through Plugins > Add New > Upload Plugin, or install it from the plugin directory, and activate it.
- Click Create a gift card product in the notice (or create a product and choose the type Gift card).
- Review the options in WooCommerce > Settings > Gift Cards and the email in WooCommerce > Settings > Emails > Gift card.

常见问题:
When is the gift card created and emailed?
When the order reaches the status set in WooCommerce > Settings > Gift Cards ("Processing" by default, i.e. as soon as it is paid). Orders paid offline (bank transfer, cheque) are issued once you mark them as Processing or Completed.
Are taxes charged on gift cards?
New gift card products are set to "Tax status: None", because in most countries taxes are due when the gift card is spent, not when it is sold. You can change the tax status of the product if your country requires it. When a gift card is redeemed it is applied after taxes, like a payment, so the taxes of the order are not reduced.
Can a gift card be used more than once?
Yes. Only the amount needed for the order is taken; the rest stays on the card until it is used up.
Can customers use several gift cards in one order?
Yes, up to 5 by default (filter bitcgc_max_cards_per_order).
What happens when an order paid with a gift card is cancelled or refunded?
The amount taken from the gift card is returned to it automatically. If the order is restored, the amount is taken again.
Does it work with the Cart and Checkout blocks?
Yes. An "Add a gift card" field is added to the totals of the Cart and Checkout blocks, and to the classic cart and checkout pages.
Can I create a gift card without an order?
Yes, in Gift Cards > Add Gift Card. You can enter your own code or let the plugin generate one, and email it right away.
What happens to my gift cards if I switch to the Pro plugin or back?
Nothing. Both plugins use the same data, so every gift card, balance, history entry and setting is kept.
Does the plugin send data to external servers?
Not by default. See "External services" below: data is only shared with Freemius if you opt in.
