How is this different from a generic chatbot plugin?
Chatixy is not a rule-based bot and not a bring-your-own-AI-key plugin. It is a hosted customer-service product: the AI is trained on your website and knowledge base, conversations escalate to a real team inbox, and a help center and ticketing come with it. The plugin is just the one-click connector.
Does the AI really learn my website?
Yes. In the Chatixy dashboard you add your site and it crawls your pages (plus any docs you upload) into a knowledge base. The bot answers from that content and says so when it doesn't know - it doesn't invent answers.
Can a human take over the conversation?
Yes. Visitors can ask for a person, and the bot escalates on its own when it can't help. Conversations land in a shared inbox in the Chatixy dashboard, where your team replies in the same chat thread.
Does it work with WooCommerce?
Yes. WooCommerce runs on WordPress, so the same plugin works on your store, and the crawler reads your product pages so the bot can answer product questions.
What languages does it support?
Two different things, both covered:
- What your visitors see - the chat widget and the AI replies work in 21 languages: English, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Dutch, Polish, Portuguese, Swedish, Danish, Norwegian, Finnish, Latvian, Russian, Ukrainian, Turkish, Arabic, Hindi, Japanese, Korean and Chinese. The bot answers in the language the visitor writes in.
- What you see in wp-admin - this plugin's own settings screen ships translated into the same 20 non-English languages, so WordPress shows it in your site's language automatically.
Where do I find my widget key?
In your Chatixy dashboard under Assistants. Open an assistant, go to its install screen, and copy the 64-character key. You can also paste the whole embed snippet - the plugin extracts the key for you.
Will it slow down my site?
No. The widget loads asynchronously in the footer and never blocks your page.
How do I hide the chat on certain pages?
Use the chatixy_should_render filter and return false for those views.
Is it GDPR compliant?
Chatixy is built by an EU company with a GDPR-first approach: chats are
processed to answer your visitors, data processing is documented in the
privacy policy and DPA, and you can delete conversation data. If you run a
consent banner, you can load the widget after consent with the
chatixy_should_render filter.
Is this plugin free? Do I need a paid account?
The plugin itself is free and GPL-licensed - it is the connector. To use it you need a Chatixy account, which is a paid subscription (flat plans from EUR 19/month and every plan includes a 7-day free trial). Pricing, plans and billing are managed in your Chatixy dashboard, not in WordPress. There is no free tier - in exchange, pricing is flat and predictable: no per-seat fees and no per-resolution fees.

WordPress picks the right one from your site language automatically. Previously the admin screen was English only, whatever your site language was.
- Fixed: the "Find this in your Chatixy dashboard" link pointed at a dashboard page that no longer exists, and called it "Widgets". It now opens the Assistants list, matching what the dashboard sidebar actually says.
- Security hardening: the Chatixy API host is now pinned to chatixy.com over HTTPS and can no longer be set from a settings submission. Previously a crafted admin-context request could store an arbitrary host, which the plugin then used both for the widget script tag it prints on every page and for the request that carries your one-time connect token. No merchant action is needed beyond updating.
- Accurate connection status: when your Chatixy plan or free trial is not active yet, the settings page now says the chat is not live and links to your Chatixy dashboard to start the trial (previously it could claim the chat was live while the widget stayed off).
- Clearer path to create an account: the widget key field now links new users to Chatixy account creation.
- Initial release: paste widget key, verify connection, inject the Chatixy AI chat widget site-wide.
