  1. Upload the plugin files to the /wp-content/plugins/cooked directory, or install the plugin through the WordPress plugins screen directly.
  2. Activate the plugin through the 'Plugins' screen in WordPress.
  3. Use the Recipes > Settings screen to configure the plugin.
  4. Go to Recipes > Add New to start adding your recipes!

Does Cooked add recipe schema for Google?

Yes. Every recipe outputs Recipe structured data as JSON-LD. If another plugin already handles your schema, you can turn Cooked's off in the settings.

Can I switch from WP Recipe Maker or Delicious Recipes?

Yes. Cooked includes importers for both, plus CSV import for bulk recipes, with sample files included.

Can readers change servings or units?

Yes. Readers can scale a recipe up or down and switch between metric and imperial. Ingredient amounts update instantly, including in the print view.

Does it work with Elementor or Divi?

Yes. Cooked shortcodes work in both.

Does Cooked use the block editor?

Recipes use Cooked's own drag & drop builder. To show a recipe in any post or page, use [cooked-recipe id="123"].

Can I translate Cooked?

Yes. It's translation-ready and supports WPML and Polylang.

Can I customize the output?

Yes. Each recipe has an editable shortcode template, and there are 167 actions and filters, a REST API (/wp-json/wp/v2/cooked_recipe) and WP-CLI commands.

Does Cooked collect any data?

No. The free plugin doesn't send any data to us or to third parties.

What's the difference between Cooked and Cooked Pro?

Cooked is fully featured and free forever. Cooked Pro adds community and growth features: ratings, favorites, user profiles, front-end recipe submissions, social sharing, extra taxonomies (Cuisine, Cooking Method, Diet, Tags), automatic nutrition and more layouts. See cooked.pro.

Does Cooked Pro stop working if my license expires?

No. A license includes one year of support and updates. Cooked Pro keeps working after that, you just won't get new updates until you renew.

Where do I report security bugs found in this plugin?

Please report security bugs found in the source code of the Cooked plugin through the Patchstack Vulnerability Disclosure Program. The Patchstack team will assist you with verification, CVE assignment, and notify the developers of this plugin.
