directory, or install the plugin through the WordPress plugins screen directly.= How is DataUnlocker different from other products or anti-blockers? =\ We work with all analytics products, both client-side and server-side. There are no annoying pop-ups or messages asking users to disable their ad blocker on websites using DataUnlocker. Data collection happens regardless of whether an ad blocker is installed or not since DataUnlocker is installed on the website. Yes. DataUnlocker is product-independent, and should work with all of your favorite analytics tools out of the box: Google Analytics, GTM, Hotjar, Amplitude etc. The only thing you need is to carefully follow setup instructions to make it right.
DataUnlocker has a unique installation for each web app and does not contain generic patterns. It is tightly coupled with web app's code and uniquely obfuscated so that blockers have no chance to decouple DataUnlocker's code from web app's code. Once installed, DataUnlocker uses cryptographically protected proxy to communicate with backends such as tracking servers. The data goes through encoded proxy channel, is cryptographically signed and validated every time for each request, leaving no chance for blockers to block, intercept or patch individual requests nor JavaScript APIs sending this data. Hence, the only thing blockers can do is either block the entire web app or do nothing. In case blockers find a way to circumvent DataUnlocker, it is designed to roll out updates globally in seconds, without customer's involvement.
Yes! Server-side tagging isn't resistant to blocking (unlike advertized), and DataUnlocker makes it so. Double check that proxy is enabled for your server side URL in DataUnlocker's Admin Network Protection section.
There's no need to solve this problem (and everything 3p-cookie-related is typically a marketing bullsh*t). Third party cookies are deprecated and should be removed from the products you use. In fact, most of them already use first-party cookies and other persistent storage alternatives. Moreover, DataUnlocker makes cookies and data flows first-party, out of the box.
Not at all. DataUnlocker just helps your data to go through blockers. For instance, if you have a "cookie consent" on your website and you implemented it in a way that data collection doesn't start until the user gives their consent to it, this behavior won't change after DataUnlocker installation.
Generally yes, however every integration may have unexpected edge cases. We recommend our customers to try DataUnlocker in your development environment first before installing it on a production website. Our support team will be happy to assist you at anytime.
No, we don't fight user's privacy. DataUnlocker just lets web applications work according to their own Privacy Policies, as originally designed. For instance, if web applications themselves implement the "cookie consent" properly and let users to opt out from tracking (regulated by GDPR), DataUnlocker will follow.
You may not know the real number of your ad blocker users. Try running DataUnlocker on your website for a little while to get the actual blockers usage rate from the DataUnlocker Admin dashboard. If the number of ad blockers is really low in your business niche, or you're a starting business, you likely need to look at your users at individual level, where each customer matters. That's where DataUnlocker will help you.
