Your posts already hold your news: new services, events, opening hours, offers. Visitors rarely go looking for the blog to find it. News Ticker puts your newest headlines in front of them on every page. Turn on the site-wide bar in Settings > News Ticker and it scrolls your latest posts as links, at the top of the page or fixed to the bottom of the screen. Add your own headlines too, each with an optional link. To show a ticker inside a page instead, use the News Ticker block or the [digital_advisors_news_ticker] shortcode. Features

Accessible by design

Visitors can pause the ticker with a Pause button. It also pauses while the pointer is over it or a link inside it has keyboard focus.
No motion for visitors whose device asks for reduced motion. They get a still list they can scroll.
Without JavaScript the list is still and scrollable, so every headline stays reachable.
The scrolling copy of the list is hidden from screen readers and skipped by the keyboard, so each headline is announced and focused once.

Light and private

The stylesheet and script load only on pages that show a ticker.
No external requests, cookies, tracking or visitor data. Headlines come from your own posts and settings.
No ads, upsells or credit links on your site.
Works with block themes and classic themes. Themes that do not support wp_body_open still get the bar.

In your WordPress admin, go to Plugins > Add New Plugin, search for "Digital Advisors News Ticker", then select Install Now and Activate.
Go to Settings > News Ticker.
Tick Show the news ticker bar across the site, choose your content and style, and select Save Changes.
Check the preview at the bottom of the settings screen, then view your site.

To place a ticker inside a page, add the News Ticker block in the block editor, or add [digital_advisors_news_ticker] to classic content or a Shortcode widget.

常见问题:

The bar does not appear on my site.

Check that Show the news ticker bar across the site is ticked and saved, and that you have at least one published post or extra headline. The settings screen preview shows a message when there is nothing to show.

Can I show posts from one category only?

Yes. Choose a category in Settings > News Ticker. The block and shortcode can each use a different category, for example [digital_advisors_news_ticker category="news"].

How do I add a headline that is not a post?

Add it to Extra headlines, one per line. To make it a link, put | and the link after the text: Winter sale ends Friday | /shop/sale Links must be a path on your site, starting with /, or a full https:// address. Anything else is shown as plain text.

What shortcode attributes are there?

All are optional and fall back to your settings:

count – number of posts, 1 to 10
category – category slug or ID
label – label text; use label="" for no label
show_dates – yes or no
speed – slow, normal or fast
headlines – no to leave out your extra headlines

Example: [digital_advisors_news_ticker count="3" category="events" speed="slow"]

Will the ticker distract visitors or cause motion sickness?

Visitors can pause it at any time, and it pauses when they hover over it or focus a link inside it. If their device is set to reduce motion, the ticker does not move at all.

Does the bottom bar cover my footer?

No. The bar adds its own height to the space below your page, so your footer stays visible above it.

Can I hide the bar on some pages?

Yes, with the digital_advisors_news_ticker_show_bar filter. For example, to hide it on the front page: add_filter( 'digital_advisors_news_ticker_show_bar', function ( $show ) { return $show && ! is_front_page(); } );

Does it slow my site down?

The plugin adds one small stylesheet and one small script, and only on pages that show a ticker. It runs a single query for your latest posts and makes no external requests.

Does it collect any data?

No. It sets no cookies, stores nothing about visitors and makes no requests to other servers.

What happens when I delete the plugin?

Deleting it from the Plugins screen removes its settings from your database. Deactivating it keeps them.
