Does it slow down my site?

Can I show the chat on just one page?
Yes. Under Settings → GhostChat, choose "Only on certain pages" and pick them. The picker lists Pages — blog posts and WooCommerce products cannot be chosen individually yet.
Can I put the chat inside a page instead of floating in the corner?
Yes — this is called embed mode. Choose "Built into a page" in the settings, then paste the [ghostchat_embed] shortcode into that page. The chat renders as a panel where you put it, and the floating bubble is switched off. Set a size with [ghostchat_embed width="400" height="600"]. Place the shortcode in the page content — it does not work in a footer or sidebar widget.
Does it work on mobile?
Yes! The dashboard is a mobile-first PWA. Install it on your phone and reply to customers like WhatsApp.
Can I use it on multiple sites?

Can I paste the entire script tag?
Yes! Our plugin has smart paste detection. You can paste the entire script tag and we'll automatically extract just the Site ID.

Log into app.ghostchat.dev/sites, find your site, and click the "Copy" button. You can paste the entire script or just the ID.
Does it work with WooCommerce?
Yes! The plugin auto-detects WooCommerce and sends your agents real-time context — zero configuration required. Page type, product name, cart items, total, and item count are available on paid plans. Custom data via setContext() is on the higher plans (see pricing).
Can I send custom data to agents?
Yes! Use the GhostChat.setContext() JavaScript API to send any key-value data (up to 20 keys, 4KB per call). Your agents see it in real-time in the conversation header. Available on the higher plans (see pricing).

- Fixed: if every page you picked under "only on certain pages" was later deleted, the chat silently disappeared from the whole site. It now shows everywhere again, and the settings screen tells you the chosen pages are gone. (With "built into a page", the chat switches off instead — it never starts floating on pages you didn't choose.)

- The chat tag now asks JavaScript minify/combine to skip it. Combining scripts could strip the tag's settings and stop the widget loading.
- The chat script now carries the plugin version. If a caching plugin ever serves visitors an out-of-date copy of the chat, updating this plugin replaces it — no cache purging needed.
- Fixed: on WooCommerce stores that use full-page caching, cart details could be stored in a cached page and then shown to the next visitor. Cart data is now read per-visitor in the browser and is never written into cached HTML.
- Fixed: cart details now reach your agents on current versions of WooCommerce. The old method relied on cart fragments, which recent WooCommerce releases no longer load, so on an up-to-date store the cart could go missing entirely.
- Fixed: the cart-watching timer now stops when you leave a page, so pages stay eligible for the browser's back/forward cache
- The chat script now records that it came from this plugin, and which version, which makes setup problems easier to diagnose
