Do I need a GoUltra account?
Yes, to send WhatsApp messages. Order, shipping, abandoned-cart and marketing messages all send through an active GoUltra account. You can create one at goultra.ai/register. The free WhatsApp chat button works without a GoUltra account.
Can I send WhatsApp marketing campaigns from WordPress?
Yes. You can compose and send opt-in WhatsApp marketing campaigns to your consenting audience directly from the GoUltra menu in WordPress, with a live preview and a test send. Campaigns go only to shoppers who explicitly opted in to WhatsApp marketing.
Can I schedule a WhatsApp campaign?
Yes. Choose send-now or pick a date and time to schedule a campaign, then follow it in the campaign history with pause and cancel.
Can I preview a campaign before it sends?
Yes. The composer shows a live WhatsApp-style preview of your template with your variables and header image filled in, and you can send a test message to your own verified number first.
Do I need a GoUltra account to use the WhatsApp chat button?
No. The WhatsApp chat button is a standard WhatsApp click-to-chat link (wa.me) to your own number. It works with no GoUltra account and sends no data to any service; the customer's own WhatsApp opens the conversation.
Can I build my own WhatsApp message templates?
Yes. The template builder lets you create order, shipping, admin, abandoned-cart and marketing templates in 20+ languages and submit them for Meta approval, with a required opt-out on marketing templates.
How much does it cost?
The WordPress plugin is free to install. An active GoUltra account is required to send messages. GoUltra subscription charges and Meta WhatsApp messaging charges are separate.
Can I send marketing messages to every WooCommerce customer?
No. Marketing and abandoned-cart messages are limited to contacts who have explicitly opted in to WhatsApp marketing at checkout. Order and shipping (utility) updates are transactional and are not marketing. Store owners remain responsible for their consent wording and legal obligations.
Does the plugin slow down checkout?
No. Outbound message events are queued asynchronously, so checkout does not wait for the GoUltra API to respond.
How does it handle consent and personal data?
Marketing messages (such as abandoned-cart recovery) require an explicit, unchecked-by-default opt-in at checkout and are sent only to customers who consent. Consent is re-checked before each marketing send, and unsubscribe stops marketing without affecting transactional order and shipping updates. The plugin also integrates with WordPress personal-data export and erase tools.
Does this work with WooCommerce HPOS?
Yes. The plugin is fully compatible with HPOS and with both classic and block-based checkout.
