What does Holographic Extreme Cache actually do?
Holographic Extreme Cache creates static HTML versions of eligible WordPress pages so they can load faster for visitors. It also includes smart cache clearing, preload support, WooCommerce-aware exclusions, browser cache helper rules, new-upload WebP conversion where supported, speed checks and diagnostics.
Is Holographic Extreme Cache suitable for WooCommerce sites?
Yes. The plugin includes WooCommerce-aware cache rules for cart, checkout, account, order and session behaviour. It is designed to keep dynamic shopping areas safe while still allowing normal public pages and product content to benefit from caching.
Will it clear the right pages when I update content?
Holographic Extreme Cache includes smart cache clearing for common WordPress changes. When content changes, the plugin can clear relevant cached pages instead of forcing you to manually rebuild the whole cache every time.
Does it help rebuild the cache after it has been cleared?
Yes. The plugin includes preload support so important pages can be warmed again after cache clearing. This helps reduce the number of first visitors who hit uncached pages after updates.
Can it convert images to WebP?
Yes, where supported by your server. The free plugin can convert newly uploaded JPEG and PNG images to WebP after the feature is enabled. It keeps the original image files as fallbacks.
Will it convert images that are already in my Media Library?
No. The free plugin only handles new uploads after WebP conversion is enabled. Holographic Extreme Cache Pro can scan and convert images that were uploaded before the feature was enabled, using background processing.
What does my server need for image conversion?
Your hosting environment needs PHP image support that can create WebP files, usually through GD or Imagick. If WebP conversion is not available, the Images tab will show a clear message and page caching will continue to work normally.
How do I know whether the cache is working?
The plugin includes cache diagnostics, response headers, homepage speed testing and health checks. These tools help confirm whether pages are being cached, served correctly and cleared when expected.
Can I exclude pages that should not be cached?
Yes. Holographic Extreme Cache includes exclusion controls for pages and request types that should stay dynamic. This is useful for forms, accounts, carts, checkouts and other areas where fresh or personalised content matters.
Does this cache logged-in users?
Logged-in users are bypassed by default, which is safest for most sites. Advanced users can enable logged-in user caching, but it is not recommended for shops, membership sites, course sites, forums or sites with personalised content unless you fully understand the risks.
Does it include optimisation features beyond page caching?
Yes. The free plugin includes safe HTML minification, WordPress emoji disabling, browser cache helper rules and new-upload WebP conversion where supported.
