Simple and automatic No additional steps are required after uploading an image. The plugin processes newly uploaded JPG and JPEG images as part of the normal WordPress Media Library workflow. WebP can provide smaller image files while maintaining good image quality, which can help reduce storage usage and improve page loading performance. Keep your original JPG/JPEG files You can optionally preserve the original JPG/JPEG file as a separate Media Library attachment. This gives you access to both the original JPG/JPEG file and the generated WebP version. By default, the original JPG/JPEG file is removed after a successful conversion. Local image conversion Image conversion is performed locally using WordPress native image processing mechanisms. No external image optimization service is required for JPG/JPEG to WebP conversion. The plugin does use Freemius for account, licensing, premium version, upgrade, and related plugin functionality. See the External Services section below for details. WebP labels in the Media Library The FREE version displays format labels for JPG, WebP and PNG files in the WordPress Media Library. This makes it easy to identify the format of image files and which files have been converted to WebP. WordPress image sizes JGWS Media Optimizer also generates WebP versions for image sizes created by WordPress. This means that the WebP conversion works with the registered image sizes generated during the normal WordPress image processing workflow. Compatibility with imported images JGWS Media Optimizer can also process images added to the WordPress Media Library through compatible external image import and content-creation mechanisms. The plugin has been tested with images imported from Pexels through Kadence templates. When a supported image is added to the Media Library, JGWS Media Optimizer can process it as part of its normal WebP conversion workflow.

1. Upload the jgws-media-optimizer folder to the /wp-content/plugins/ directory.
2. Activate the plugin through the 'Plugins' screen in WordPress.
3. Go to the plugin settings and configure the available options.
4. Upload JPG or JPEG images to the WordPress Media Library.

The plugin automatically processes newly uploaded JPG and JPEG images.
