- Media Library: a "Remove background" link under each image (list view), and a bulk action for up to 10 images at a time.
- WooCommerce: a "Remove background from main image" bulk action on Products. The cut-out becomes the product image.
- Your originals are kept. The result is saved as a new image named
…-removebg.pngnext to the original, with the same alt text. - Transparent or coloured background: a transparent PNG, or a JPG on white (or any colour) for consistent product photos.
- Preview or full size: previews use your free monthly previews first; full size up to 25 megapixels uses 1 credit.

- Install and activate the plugin.
- Go to Settings > LassoCut and click "Connect with LassoCut": sign in with GitHub or Google in the new tab and approve. (Or paste an API key from https://www.lassocut.com/account/.)
- In Media > Library (list view), click "Remove background" under an image, or select several and use the bulk action.

What are the marketplace presets?
In Settings > LassoCut, "Ready for" sets the background, the size of the canvas and the JPG format to a marketplace's image rules (Amazon, eBay, Etsy, Shopify, Zalando, Instagram). Compliant means compliant with the image rules LassoCut checks. With a preset chosen, the Background setting is ignored and the result is a JPG named ...-removebg.jpg. An optional cast shadow (light direction, length, strength) is available with every preset except Zalando, which allows no shadow.
Is the original image replaced?
No. The cut-out is a new image in the Media Library. For WooCommerce products, the cut-out becomes the main product image and the original stays in the library.
Why is the first image slow?
After a quiet period the processing servers wake up first; the first image can take up to a minute. The next ones take a few seconds.
How many images can I process at once?
Up to 10 per bulk action, so a run of slow, cold-starting images can never run past what the server's own time limit allows. For whole folders, use the free LassoCut batch tool in your browser: https://www.lassocut.com/batch/

- Automatically retries a failed request up to 3 times when the servers are restarting (HTTP 502/503/504), instead of failing the image outright.
- Identifies itself to the API with its own header, so it isn't mistaken for another client.
- Removes its settings (including the API key) when the plugin is deleted.
- The bulk action now processes up to 10 images at a time (was 20), matched to the server's own time limit so a run of slow images can no longer be cut off mid-batch.
- The plugin now spells its name LassoCut.
- "Connect with LassoCut": sign in and approve in a new tab, no key to copy.
