Take your WordPress site into your next project.
NextSite Exporter turns your public WordPress pages into a downloadable static HTML project, with local assets, rewritten links, and guidance for what to do next. Open the files in your editor, put them in version control, and continue working with your developer or coding agent.
Built for brochure sites, portfolios, and business websites whose owners want to move beyond WordPress. The core exporter is free, with no paid page quota or account required.
More context for your next edit
Your export includes more than page files:
- Public pages exported as HTML, with local page and asset references rewritten.
- Supported same-origin images, CSS, JavaScript, and fonts collected into the project.
- AGENTS.md with basic project instructions for coding agents.
- MIGRATION.md with detected dynamic features and migration notes.
- migration-report.json with export totals, asset failures, and recorded replacements.
- A README and basic static-host configuration to help you get started.
The agent instructions provide a starting point for working with the export. They do not automatically refactor your site or resolve every migration issue.
A practical export workflow
- Analyze your site for content counts and common dynamic dependencies.
- Create your static project and follow export progress in the dashboard.
- Download the ZIP, review the migration notes, and test before publishing.
Export processing runs on your WordPress installation. Generated project files are written to a temporary directory outside the public uploads area and served only through the authenticated admin download. NextSite Exporter streams supported asset downloads and copies eligible local uploads directly to avoid unnecessary downloading. Node.js is not required to use the WordPress plugin.
Know what needs a replacement
Forms, search, comments, accounts, commerce, and other server-backed features may need replacements. NextSite Exporter reports common dependencies and replaces affected unrendered MetForm widgets with a clear static-form notice. Review the notes and test your site's important interactions before switching hosts.
The export preserves rendered HTML and assets. It does not convert a page-builder site into reusable components or a React or Astro application. Results depend on your theme, plugins, and publicly accessible content.

support development on Ko-fi.
- Download the NextSite Exporter plugin ZIP. In WordPress, go to Plugins > Add New > Upload Plugin.
- Select the ZIP, install it, and activate NextSite Exporter.
- Go to Tools > NextSite Exporter.
- Select Analyze site to review content counts and common dynamic dependencies.
- Create a static project and download the generated ZIP when it is ready.
The server running WordPress needs the PHP ZipArchive extension to create downloadable export ZIP files.
