It depends on how many posts / pages / etc. are on your site, and how many items per page your media library is set to show. In our testing: A site with 500 posts can scan 20 media items in 20 minutes. A site with 100 posts can scan 20 media items in 2 minutes.
Because it checks so many different use cases for each media item, the plugin can only handle about 30 media items per page. If no scan progress is successfully made in 10 minutes, it will alert you on the media library page to restart the scan, but it will not restart the scan on its own without your input. If you are seeing this alert, try setting your Media Library pagination to a smaller number of items.
Right now, the plugin is only designed to search for image files. We'd like to expand it later to support more file types!
The plugin currently only checks for the image usage locations and types described above. If you store images in another location (such as page builder elements or other plugins) and you notice this plugin doesn't find them, feel free to contact us with your information and we will look into adding support for that situation as well!
