orderring-lite folder to /wp-content/plugins/No. OrderRing Lite is completely self-contained. There is no account to create, no login, no license key, and no call to Tillpress (the author's) servers — ever. You only need your own Twilio account to send messages.
Yes. Enter the trial Account SID, Auth Token, and From Number on the settings screen like any other Twilio account. Twilio trial accounts can only send to numbers you have verified in the Twilio Console, so use that for a smoke test. When you are ready to text real customers, upgrade the Twilio account itself — this plugin does not sell Twilio service and has no trial of its own.
Yes. You provide Account SID, Auth Token, and a From Number from your own Twilio account. You contract with Twilio directly; this plugin only calls the Twilio API with the credentials you enter. OrderRing Lite never bills you for messages and adds no markup.
Whatever Twilio charges for that destination — typically a few cents in the US, more for some international routes, plus any A2P 10DLC or sender-registration fees Twilio collects. The plugin does not resell messages, hold a balance, or add a per-text fee. Check Twilio's current SMS pricing for your From number and destination country before you go live.
From your own Twilio account. You contract with Twilio directly and Twilio bills you for every message at Twilio's rates. OrderRing Lite adds no markup and never handles payment for messaging — the plugin only calls the Twilio API with the credentials you enter.
Only what you send to Twilio, and only when you (or the "Ready for Pickup" automation) send a message: the destination phone number, your Twilio "from" number, and the message body (which may include the customer's first name, order number, order total, and tracking number from the merge tags you configure). Nothing is sent to the plugin author or any other third party, except a support ticket you choose to send from the Help & demo page — there is no license check, telemetry, or phone-home. See the "External services" section above for the full breakdown.
If you text US mobile numbers, carriers require A2P 10DLC (or a verified toll-free number). Register that in the Twilio Console. This plugin does not file it for you.
No. Every feature listed above works without a key, trial, or phone-home to the author.
Lite steps aside so you do not send duplicate SMS. While both are active, Lite stays idle and shows a notice on the Plugins screen. You can deactivate Lite.
Open OrderRing Lite → Help & demo. The support form there sends your ticket straight to the Tillpress support desk at tillpress.com after you tick the consent box and press Send ticket; you get a ticket number on screen and the reply comes by email. It includes your name, email, message, this site's address, and (optional) a system report of versions, theme, and active plugins; never passwords, keys, or customer data. Prefer email? "Email instead" opens the same ticket in your own email app. You can also use the WordPress.org support forum for this plugin or https://tillpress.com/support/. Replies Monday to Friday, 09:00 to 17:00 Pacific Time; first reply within one business day.
Yes. On OrderRing Lite → Help & demo, click Create demo data. It creates one order in Ready for Pickup with Local Pickup and SMS consent, so you can see the order-screen SMS box, the consent badge, and the exact text your customer would receive. Demo orders can never be texted, even if you press Send. Everything is labelled "Demo", never emailed or texted, and removed with one click (or when you uninstall the plugin).
Only on its own Help & demo page: one box describing the paid OrderRing plugin with an optional 20% discount code. It can be hidden for good with "Hide this offer". There are no dashboard-wide notices, no tracking, and no referral IDs.
Yes. Define ORLT_ACCOUNT_SID, ORLT_AUTH_TOKEN, and/or ORLT_FROM_NUMBER (the older ORL_ names still work). Constants override the settings fields so credentials can stay out of the database.
