Does it work with WooCommerce HPOS?
Yes! The plugin is fully tested and compatible with WooCommerce High-Performance Order Storage.
Does it work with WooCommerce Subscriptions?
Yes! Templates can be inserted into both orders and subscriptions. Subscription-specific variables like {next_payment} and {start_date} are available on subscription screens.
Can I have both customer and internal templates?
Yes. When creating a template, choose "Customer" (visible to the buyer via email) or "Internal" (visible to staff only). Both types appear in separate groups in the dropdown.
Will the variables be replaced automatically?
Yes. When you select a template, the plugin fetches the current order/subscription data and replaces all variables before inserting the text into the note field.
Does it slow down my store?
No. The plugin only loads its assets on WooCommerce order and subscription admin screens. There is no frontend impact.

- Fixed: the plugin file's own header comment still had a hardcoded "Tested up to: 7.0" line left over from before the 1.2.4 update. WordPress.org gives the plugin-header value priority over the readme's "Tested up to" when both are present, so the directory kept showing 7.0 (normalized to the latest 7.0.x release) even after readme.txt was correctly bumped to 7.1 in 1.2.4. Removed the header line entirely — "Tested up to" is a readme.txt-only field and doesn't belong in the plugin file, matching how Order Tags & Labels already does it — so this can't happen again.
- Internal: bumped "Tested up to" to 7.1 following the WordPress core update — Plugin Check flags an outdated "Tested up to" header as an error that keeps a plugin out of on-site search results.
- Fixed: template category handling (the field, its save logic and the DB-column check) was still present in the free version's shared code, only inert — moved entirely into the Professional-only module so it is physically absent from the free build, matching how PDF attachments are already handled
- Fixed: the free version's database table no longer creates the Pro-only
category/pdf_attachmentcolumns at all — they are added only when the Professional build runs, and on upgrade to Pro they are added automatically without touching existing data - Internal: PDF attachment save-handling gate now also keyed off the Professional-only class instead of a runtime license flag, for consistency
