- Version 7.1 of Jetpack added featured suggestions to plugin search results: “If a user searches for a plugin that has a feature that is already offered by Jetpack, the plugin will insert an artificial (and dismissible) search result into the first plugin card slot, identifying the corresponding Jetpack feature”.
- Version 3.6 of WooCommerce added “Marketplace Suggestions”: “contextual mentions of official extensions that may be relevant to a customer”.
In the first version we hide the "suggestions" of Jetpack, WooCommerce and the tinyhelp project but we will add more as we notice them.If you install a plugin that injects ads in the WordPress plugin search of your WordPress, please send it to us so that we can include it in the plugin. Please note that we can only hide these "suggestions" from plugins that have a filter to hide them. Just send us the plugin and we will have a look: send us an email. What can I do with this plugin? Why did you make this plugin?
We made the plugin for the non tech-savy person that doesn't know how to disable the "suggestions" by adding code to the functions.php file of the used chidl theme. This plugin is plug and play.
Does Remove suggestions from plugin search results make changes to the database?
No.
How can I check out if the plugin works for me?
Install and activate. Go to ADD PLUGIN and search for a plugin. There should be no "promotions" or "suggestions".
The plugin search of my WordPress still shows adds from other plugins
We are very interested in knowing other plugins that insert these "suggestions" so that we can add a filter to this plugin to hide them. You can simply activate, deactivate or delete it in your plugin management section. Or you can delete the plugin through FTP.
Are there any known incompatibilities?
Please don't use it with WordPress MultiSite, as it has not been tested.
Which PHP version do I need?
This plugin has been tested and works with PHP versions 5.6 and greater. WordPress itself recommends using PHP version 7.3 or greater. If you're using a PHP version lower than 5.6 please upgrade your PHP version or contact your Server administrator.
Are there any server requirements?
Yes. The plugin requires a PHP version 5.6 or higher and we recommend using PHP version 7.3 or higher. The plugin has been tested with PHP up to 7.3.
