type: standings, scorers, matches, match or team.id: the league (standings, scorers), team (team) or match (match) id (letters, digits, _ and -). For match you can also paste the Rotascore match link.group: for standings of a league with groups, the id of the group tab to open first (the first group by default).leagues: for matches, up to 10 league ids separated by commas (id still works for one league).day: for matches, today (default), yesterday or tomorrow. See the FAQ about caching.theme: auto (default, follows your site), light or dark.lang: a Rotascore language code, for example en, tr, de, es, pt-PT, zh-Hant.width: optional maximum width in pixels such as 480, or full; by default the widget fills its container.rows: number of standings rows, scorers or team matches per side (default: all; 10 for scorers).highlight: a team id to draw in bold.logos: 0 hides team logos.live: for matches, 1 shows only the matches being played right now (no day buttons; day and date are ignored).controls: 0 hides the language, league and theme menu inside the widget (default 1).height: height reserved before the widget loads, in pixels; the widget then resizes itself to its content.tz: optional IANA time zone such as Europe/Istanbul (the visitor's own time zone by default).date: optional YYYY-MM-DD date for the fixtures widget; it wins over day.https://www.rotascore.com/{language}/embed/.... A small script bundled inside this plugin (assets/loader.js; no remote JavaScript is loaded) creates the iframe and reads your page's colors and text size so the widget matches it. It sets no cookies. When a visitor's browser loads a page containing a widget, it connects to rotascore.com and sends the usual request data (such as IP address and user agent) to that service. The widget shows a "Rotascore" link inside the frame; the plugin does not remove or hide it.
2. The league and team search (logged-in editors only). When a logged-in user who can edit posts searches for a league or team in the block sidebar or on Settings > Rotascore Widgets, that editor's browser (not your server) sends the typed search text and the chosen language code to https://www.rotascore.com/api/embed/search (league and team search, and the popular leagues listed before you type) to list leagues and teams. No cookies are sent and nothing is stored; answers are only kept in memory while the page is open.
3. The live preview (editors only). The preview in the editor and on the settings page is the same iframe from https://www.rotascore.com/{language}/embed/... that visitors see, loaded in the editor's browser.
Visitors never trigger the search requests, and the plugin stores no personal data. The widgets themselves are loaded from rotascore.com by the visitors' browsers.
rotascore-live-scores-widget folder to /wp-content/plugins/, or install the plugin from the Plugins screen.No. The widgets are free to embed. Pick a league or team and you are done.
Yes. Create the shortcode under Settings > Rotascore Widgets and paste it into the shortcode element of your builder or into the Classic Editor. Themes that use widget areas without blocks can use the "Rotascore Football Widget" under Appearance > Widgets.
Yes. The page only contains an empty container; the live data is loaded in the visitor's browser from rotascore.com, so scores stay live on cached pages. The one exception is day="yesterday" or day="tomorrow": the date is fixed when the page is generated, so a page that stays in the cache for days can show an outdated day. Purge the cache daily, or keep the default today, which follows each visitor. If your caching plugin delays or combines JavaScript, exclude rotascore-live-scores-widget/assets/loader.js.
Yes. Turn on "Live matches only" in the block sidebar or the shortcode generator (or use live="1"). The fixtures widget then lists only the live matches, still grouped by league, hides the day buttons and says "No live matches right now" when nothing is on.
By default the theme is auto: the widget reads the background and text color of the place where you put it and switches between light and dark. If you want a fixed look, choose Light or Dark in the block sidebar or add theme="dark" to the shortcode.
The competitions and teams of Rotascore, from the top leagues and cups to many lower divisions around the world. Search for the name in the picker; if you can find it on rotascore.com you can use it here.
Yes. Choose the language in the block sidebar or use the lang attribute. The widget is available in 53 languages, and visitors can change the language inside the widget unless you turn the controls off. The plugin's own screens are translated through translate.wordpress.org.
The plugin sets no cookies, adds no tracking and stores no personal data. The widget is an iframe served by rotascore.com, so the visitor's browser connects to that service like it does for any embedded content; see the privacy policy linked in the External services section. Whether you need to mention it in your own privacy policy or consent tool depends on your site and your country, so please check your own requirements.
The widget loads only when it comes near the visible screen (lazy loading), the bundled script is small, no layout jump happens because the height is reserved, and the iframe pauses its live updates when it is out of view.
No. The widget shows a small "Rotascore" link as part of the free service, and the plugin does not offer a way to hide it. Please do not hide it with CSS either.
The widget resizes itself to its content when your theme prints scripts in the footer. You can also set the height attribute to change the space reserved while it loads.
Widgets inserted after the page has loaded are picked up automatically. If your theme replaces content in a way that is not noticed, call window.RotascoreWidgets.scan() once after inserting the widget container.

day="yesterday" and day="tomorrow" are now worked out in the visitor's browser instead of when the page is built, so a page cache (WP Rocket, LiteSpeed, W3 Total Cache, Cloudflare) can no longer pin the fixtures widget to an old day.type="scorers"): goals, assists and cards of a league for the season, with a block variation "Rotascore Top Scorers".type="match"): score, minute and match events; enter the match id or paste its Rotascore link.
