Scanduro Connect brings dynamic QR code creation and management to WordPress. Create a QR code for a published page or post, display it on your website, or download a PNG for print. Update an eligible QR code's destination later without replacing the printed code.
QR codes for your WordPress website
- Create a dynamic QR code for a published WordPress page or post.
- Choose an existing QR code from your Scanduro workspace or import it by ID.
- Download a 1024-pixel PNG QR image for posters, flyers, signs and table cards.
- Display saved QR codes with the Scanduro QR Code block or a shortcode.
- Change an eligible dynamic QR code's destination when your content moves.
Restaurant menu and ordering links
Add a button linking to your published Scanduro menu or ordering page using the Scanduro Menu or Order Link block or shortcode. Visitors open your hosted Scanduro page while you keep your existing WordPress website.
Account and pricing
Account-connected QR management requires a Scanduro account on a plan with live API access (currently Pro and above). The connector itself is free to install. Manually configured menu/ordering buttons need no API connection; the linked service remains subject to its own Scanduro plan and availability.
This is not a WooCommerce sync tool, payment gateway, embedded checkout or independent QR hosting service.
External service and privacy
This plugin connects to
https://scanduro.com/api/v1 only after an administrator explicitly connects an API key or requests an operation. It sends the key in an HTTPS Authorization header to verify the connection and manage the selected codes. Creating a QR sends the selected published page's title and permalink. Updating a code sends the new destination. Rendering a QR sends its canonical short URL to the Scanduro image-rendering endpoint.
Account/key information, QR IDs, destinations and images are returned to WordPress. QR images are cached in the site's public uploads folder. Normal visitor page loads do not call the authenticated API. Following a link or scanning its image visits Scanduro's resolver or hosted page under the service's privacy terms.
The API key is stored in a non-autoloaded WordPress option. Administrators and parties with database/server access can access stored credentials. Protect database backups and revoke the key in Scanduro if compromised. Disconnecting removes the saved key. Uninstalling removes plugin settings/mappings; remote QR codes and uploaded PNGs are intentionally preserved to avoid breaking existing printed or directly embedded links.

1. Install and activate
You need administrator access to a WordPress website running WordPress 6.5 or later and PHP 7.4 or later.
- In your WordPress dashboard, open Plugins > Add New Plugin.
- Search for Scanduro Connect and choose Scanduro Connect: QR Codes and Menus by scanduro.
- Click Install Now, then Activate.
Alternatively, download the ZIP from this listing, open
Plugins > Add New Plugin > Upload Plugin, select the ZIP, click
Install Now, and activate it.
2. Connect Scanduro for QR management
Creating, importing and updating QR codes requires a Scanduro workspace with live API access, currently Pro or above. The WordPress plugin is free to install. If you only want a menu or ordering button, skip to section 4.
- Sign in to Scanduro and open API Keys.
- Create a dedicated live API key with codes:read and codes:write permissions for this WordPress website.
- In WordPress, open Settings > Scanduro Connect.
- Paste the key into Connect or replace live API key, then click Connect Scanduro.
- Check that the page shows Connected key: with your key's name.
Use an API key, not your Scanduro password or a sandbox key. Keep the key private.
3. Create or display a QR code
- Publish the page or post you want visitors to open. It must be public and not password-protected.
- In Settings > Scanduro Connect, under Create a QR for a published page, select it from Page or post and click Create or retrieve this page's QR.
- Find the result under Saved QR codes. Use Download PNG for a printable image.
- To display it on your website, copy its shortcode into a WordPress Shortcode block. Alternatively, add the Scanduro QR Code block and paste the saved code's ID into Saved QR ID.
- Publish or update the WordPress page, view it as a visitor, and scan the QR with your phone to confirm it opens the intended destination.
To use a QR you already have, click
Load QR list, choose it from
Existing QR, and click
Save selected QR. You can also enter its ID in
Or enter a QR ID and click
Save QR by ID. IDs start with
lnk_; they are not the destination URL.
To change an eligible code later, use
Update a destination, enter its
QR ID and
New destination, and click
Change destination. Scan the same printed QR afterward to verify the change. Table-ordering codes have protected destinations.
4. Add a menu or ordering button
This button does not require an API key. You still need a published Scanduro menu or ordering page, subject to its Scanduro plan and availability.
- Edit the WordPress page where you want the button.
- Add the Scanduro Menu or Order Link block.
- Paste your published link into Scanduro menu or ordering URL, then choose the Link text, such as View menu or Order now.
- Publish or update the page and test the button as a visitor.
Use an HTTPS Scanduro link on
scanduro.com, scanduro.page or
scandu.ro (including supported scanduro.page and
scandu.ro subdomains). This version does not accept your own custom domain for the menu button. It opens the hosted page; it does not embed a menu or checkout.
