This plugin connects your WordPress site to the ShopMonitor.io service and shows the connection status, detected integrations, and monitoring links directly in your WordPress admin.

Do I need an API key in WordPress?
No. You manage everything through your normal ShopMonitor.io account login. The plugin shows local connection and integration information only - no API key is required in WordPress itself.
What does ShopMonitor.io actually test?
ShopMonitor.io simulates real customer behaviour on your site - it can test your WooCommerce add-to-cart and checkout flow, contact form submissions and your WordPress login area. All tests run from outside your server, just like a real visitor.
Does the plugin work without WooCommerce?
Yes. The connection status display, dashboard widget, and form testing features work without WooCommerce. WooCommerce-specific checkout monitoring requires WooCommerce to be active.
Will automated test runs interfere with my real orders or form submissions?
No. ShopMonitor test runs are clearly tagged internally and are automatically cleaned up after each test. Test orders created during monitoring are removed and never appear in your real order history.
Does the plugin send any of my shop or customer data to ShopMonitor.io?
No. The plugin does not transmit your WooCommerce orders, customer records, cart contents, or product catalog to ShopMonitor.io. The admin screens read integration information locally within WordPress.
What happens if a test detects a problem?
You will be alerted via the ShopMonitor.io web app. You can configure notification preferences (email, etc.) in your ShopMonitor.io account settings.

- Security: tighter checks so the test payment method is only used during a real ShopMonitor checkout test, and so the plugin recognizes monitoring visits from ShopMonitor itself.
- The ShopMonitor test payment method now shows up during automated checkout tests when the shop sits behind a proxy. Store visitors still do not see it.
- This update requires PHP 8.0 or newer. The plugin remains compatible with PHP 8.4.
- Updated the security library used for ShopMonitor email verification tokens.
- WooCommerce test purchases no longer leave an order in the shop. ShopMonitor removes the test order after the run and does not send shop-owner new-order emails.
- Tested with WordPress 7.1.
- Security: tighter checks so only real ShopMonitor monitoring requests get special access. If you are logged in to WordPress, the plugin no longer skips the usual login checks.
- Security: hardened the email-interception mechanism - email routing and recipient addresses are now verified via a server-signed RS256 token (X-ShopMonitor-Auth header) instead of plain request headers. Unauthenticated requests can no longer influence mail delivery.
- Security: IP detection now uses only REMOTE_ADDR by default; proxy headers (X-Forwarded-For, CF-Connecting-IP, etc.) must be explicitly opted in via the new
shopmonitor_trusted_proxy_headersfilter. - Security: password-reset, email-change, and existing-user emails are now unconditionally exempt from any block/reroute action, even when a valid token is present.
- Security: the test-context master switch now defaults to disabled (previously enabled by default).
- Form tests: track whether confirmation emails were successfully sent during ShopMonitor test runs
- Spam/captcha: added bypass support for Simple Cloudflare Turnstile, hCaptcha, and Perfmatters; exclude ShopMonitor test gateway from Turnstile payment-method checks
- WPForms: disable third-party provider integrations and limit notification emails during test runs to avoid side effects
- Form tests: server-side submission tracking for ShopMonitor test runs - ShopMonitor can now confirm that a form was successfully processed on the server side before completing a test run
- Removed account API key requirement; admin now shows connected status and form integration names only
