You need your own OpenAI API account and API key for AI generation. OpenAI bills API usage separately. SitePublisher AI Free requires no SitePublisher account, subscription or commercial license key. 1. Install SitePublisher AI through Plugins, or upload the ZIP using Plugins > Add New Plugin > Upload Plugin.
2. Activate the plugin.
3. Open SitePublisher AI > Platform Settings > OpenAI API.
4. Read the external-service information and enter your own OpenAI API key. Use Preview Key Change, then Save Encrypted Key.
5. Open Website Profile and set the writing preferences for this website.
6. Open Single Article, prepare a brief and add it to the work queue.
7. Review the generated article and choose Save draft or Publish now.

Requirements: WordPress 6.5 or newer; PHP 8.2 or newer with OpenSSL, mbstring and DOM extensions. Image processing uses the image editor supplied by WordPress. Generation runs through WP-Cron, which must be enabled or triggered by your hosting scheduler. Moving from the direct-download Free package Back up your website first. Deactivate the older SitePublisher AI package (marketing-hub-2), then install and activate this package (sitepublisher-ai). Activate only one edition at a time. Version 2.0.5 upgrades historical mh2_ identifiers to the siteai_ prefix. Settings and encrypted keys are copied without overwriting existing new settings. Local profiles, prompts, usage and queue records retain their IDs; their private post types and metadata are upgraded. Published posts and Media Library content retain their IDs and content. This is a one-way storage upgrade: restore your backup before returning to a previous edition. The old edition will not read the new private post types or receive later setting changes. The upgrade processes bounded batches only during administrator or WP-CLI requests. If an upgrade notice appears, use Continue upgrade until it finishes. Article operations and reporting remain paused while upgrading. Old remote-site and bulk queue entries are retained but cannot execute in this edition.

• Publication now reports a missing requested keyword for review instead of inserting an artificial reference or silently omitting its link.

• Guide AI generation to include the supplied link phrases naturally in the middle third of the article.
• Preserve each approved destination and avoid duplicate keyword links. If no suitable middle occurrence exists, add a short related-reading reference near the middle.
• Existing published articles are not changed automatically. Writing style dropdowns now offer optional per-article overrides.
