define( 'SUDWIRE_NEWSROOM_KEY', 'swn_…' ); to wp-config.php instead.Yes. It needs a Sudwire Newsroom account. You can see 5 sample drafts for your area first, with no card, and Starter and Pro start with a 14-day free trial. Plans are priced by how many articles a day you want.
No. Articles are written from official sources such as police, councils and agencies, in Sudwire's own words, with the source linked. Other outlets only appear as leads unless you choose to write from one, and then it's credited and its photos are never used.
Each article is new text written from a primary source, the number per day is capped, and your editor reviews what goes out. Posts are ordinary WordPress posts, so your SEO plugin and sitemap handle them as usual.
Only if you choose automatic publishing in the dashboard. Sensitive stories still wait for an editor.
Yes. Articles are standard posts with a featured image, a category and tags, so any theme shows them.
Yes. Anyone who can edit others' posts can review and publish them, and the Newsroom screen shows who decided what.
That's set in your Sudwire Newsroom dashboard. Articles an editor publishes count as reviewed. You can change the wording with the sudwire_label_text filter.
Its screens follow your WordPress language. They come in Romanian, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Brazilian Portuguese, Polish and Dutch, and you can help translate them into yours at translate.wordpress.org.
Yes, from version 0.6.4. The plugin keeps its own two public addresses open (the site check and the read count) and leaves the rest of the REST API as your security plugin set it. A firewall that blocks the address before WordPress runs still needs to allow /wp-json/sudwire-newsroom/.
From version 0.6.5 the post stays a draft and the plugin tries again on the next checks, from Sudwire's copy of the photo and from where it came from. It's published once the photo is in, unless an editor changed the post meanwhile (then publishing is left to them) or it waited long enough to be old news (then it's filed for review). If the photo still hasn't downloaded after about 16 hours, the post stays unpublished for an editor to add a photo, and the Newsroom screen's log says so. Your default photo is only used for articles that arrive without one.
