Can I add the form and calendar with Gutenberg blocks?
Yes. TailDesk includes a dedicated booking form block and a dedicated availability calendar block.
Can I still use shortcodes?
Yes. Both frontend tools are available as shortcodes.
Is there a Pro version of TailDesk?
Yes. TailDesk Pro is available as an optional extension with advanced pricing, custom booking fields, Google Calendar Sync and expanded invoice options.
Can visitors send a booking request without creating an account?
Yes. TailDesk is designed for direct booking requests from public visitors.
How does TailDesk protect the booking form against spam?
TailDesk enables three built-in layers by default: an invisible website_url honeypot field, a minimum fill time of 2 seconds, and independent IP address or email address limits of 2 requests per minute and 5 per hour. You can adjust or disable every layer in TailDesk > Settings > Anti-spam.
Client IP addresses are detected with support for common Cloudflare and reverse proxy headers. Temporary rate limit identifiers are salted and hashed; TailDesk does not permanently store raw IP addresses for anti-spam purposes.
Proxy headers can be spoofed when a web server remains directly reachable and the proxy does not overwrite them. Advanced installations can adjust the detected address with the taildesk_antispam_client_ip filter. Clear full-page caches after updating form-facing anti-spam settings so cached forms use the current configuration.
Can I use an external CAPTCHA provider?
Yes. Cloudflare Turnstile, Google reCAPTCHA v2 checkbox, and Google reCAPTCHA v3 are optional. TailDesk only loads a provider on pages containing a booking form and only when both its site key and secret key are configured. If keys are incomplete, TailDesk shows an admin warning and continues using the built-in protection without displaying a CAPTCHA. Keys for inactive providers are retained so you can switch providers without re-entering them. Stored secret keys are never printed back into HTML.
Can I create multiple pet sitting services?
Yes. You can create multiple services and manage pricing and daily capacity per service.
Can I control pricing, date formatting and notification addresses globally?
Yes. In TailDesk > Settings you can configure the global price format, date format and one or multiple booking notification email addresses.
Can I generate invoices for bookings?
Yes. TailDesk 1.0.4 adds invoice generation and print preview from the booking admin screen.
Does TailDesk process payments?
No. TailDesk focuses on booking requests, availability, booking management and invoices. It does not process online payments.
Can I set a custom email address for booking notifications?
Yes. In TailDesk > Settings you can set one or multiple notification addresses. Separate multiple addresses with ;.
