TDFE Tips & Donations for EDD adds a new Donate product type to Easy Digital Downloads. Pick it, and that download becomes a tip jar. Visitors choose an amount, hit the button, and check out as usual.

- Make sure Easy Digital Downloads is installed and active.
- Upload the
tdfe-tips-donations-eddfolder to/wp-content/plugins/, or install it from Plugins → Add New. - Activate the plugin.
- Go to Downloads → Tips & Donations to set your amounts and labels.
- Edit a download and set its Product Type to Donate.

Does it need Easy Digital Downloads?
Yes. It is an add-on for Easy Digital Downloads and does nothing without it.
How do I turn a download into a tip jar?
Edit the download and choose Donate as the product type. Then publish or update it.
Can I use different amounts on different downloads?
Not in the free plugin. Amounts, limits and labels are global. Per-download amounts and limits are available in the separate Pro plugin.
Can visitors type their own amount?
Yes. Turn on Enable Custom Amount in the settings. Their amount must respect your minimum and maximum.
Can I change the button text?
Yes. Go to Downloads → Tips & Donations and edit the Donate button text and the other labels.
How do I show the amount selector somewhere else?
Use the shortcode [tdfe_donation_prices id="123"] with the ID of a Donate download.
Does the free plugin connect to an external service?
No. It makes no remote requests and collects no data.
Can I run Free and Pro together?
No need. If both are active, the free plugin pauses itself and shows a notice. Delete the free plugin once Pro is working.
