Yes. A TradePoints merchant account and valid Client ID and Client Secret are required to connect the plugin to the TradePoints service.
The plugin validates the card number with TradePoints. When the card belongs to an existing TradePoints member, the eligible purchase can be associated with that member and points can be awarded.
Depending on the configured checkout options, the plugin can send the WooCommerce billing email and customer name to TradePoints. If the email already belongs to a TradePoints member, the existing member is used. If a TradePoints member does not exist, TradePoints can create a member when required and award the applicable points.
The plugin provides configurable customer consent options. When automatic signup is disabled, a customer consent checkbox can be displayed at checkout. If the customer does not provide consent, the order is not processed for TradePoints points awarding. When automatic signup is enabled, the checkout displays information explaining that the customer may be automatically signed up to TradePoints if they are not already a member and provides a link to the TradePoints Terms and Conditions.
The merchant can configure the plugin to award points when a WooCommerce order reaches either the Processing or Completed status.
The plugin sends the eligible WooCommerce order amount to TradePoints. The TradePoints service determines the applicable points according to the merchant's TradePoints configuration.
A full WooCommerce refund will request reversal of the original TradePoints points transaction, provided the member has not already used the points awarded from that transaction. Partial refunds are not automatically reversed because the TradePoints refund API reverses the entire original points transaction.
The plugin records the failure and can automatically retry failed point-awarding requests using WooCommerce Action Scheduler. The TradePoints panel on the WooCommerce order also provides information about the synchronization status and allows an administrator to manually retry an eligible unsynced or failed order.
The plugin stores the TradePoints synchronization status and transaction information against the WooCommerce order. Once an order has been successfully synchronized, the plugin does not intentionally process that order for another points award.
Open the WooCommerce order in WordPress administration. The TradePoints panel displays information about the integration status, including the transaction identifier, points awarded, card information when available, refund status, and the most recent synchronization error.
Open the WooCommerce order and check the TradePoints panel and order notes. When debug logging is enabled, TradePoints logs are also available under WooCommerce > Status > Logs.
Yes. TradePoints for WooCommerce declares compatibility with WooCommerce High-Performance Order Storage (HPOS).
Yes. TradePoints for WooCommerce supports the WooCommerce Cart and Checkout Block experience.
Depending on the operation, the plugin may send the customer's TradePoints card number, email address, first and last name, WooCommerce order transaction identifier, and order amount to the TradePoints API. See the External Service section above for more information.
