- Alipay payments redirect the user to Alipay’s website, which displays a QR code for the same mobile payment process or to login to the user's Alipay account, then automatically redirects the end-user back to your selected thank you page upon payment completion
- UnionPay card details are entered directly on your checkout page via a secure Stripe-powered inline card form - no redirect needed.

- Alipay and WeChat payments can only be accepted from Alipay and WeChat accounts that have been identity verified. Stripe cannot presently accept payments from unverified Alipay and WeChat accounts, but this may be subject to change.
- WeChat Pay supports one-time payments from Chinese customers.
- Stripe + Alipay support one-time payments from Chinese customers out of the box. The plugin does not support recurring Alipay payments.
- China Payments Plugin requires you to Connect your Stripe account in order to function properly for TEST or LIVE payments.

Yes. Please sign up for a Stripe.com account in your country by clicking here.
What payment options are currently supported?
Alipay, WeChat Pay, and UnionPay card payments are all supported in the free version for one-time payments. UnionPay cards are entered inline on the checkout page with no redirect required.
Does Alipay support recurring payments?
The Stripe + Alipay integration is extremely complex and unfortunately requires extensive approval from Stripe to enable recurring Alipay payments. We have deprecated this option from the plugin due to its complexity and rarity of requests. If you want this functionality enabled and have already been approved for recurring Alipay payments from Stripe, please contact our team to request a custom integration project for a one-time fee.
Are there any transaction fees for using China Payments Plugin?
The Free version of China Payments Plugin includes a small 2% transaction fee to help us continue supporting the community with ongoing development and improvements. Upgrading to PRO removes the transaction fee entirely and unlocks checkout optimizations like Chinese localization and multi-currency CNY display. See our paid plans.
Is WooCommerce supported?
Absolutely! You can offer one-time WeChat Pay, Alipay, and UnionPay card payments on your WooCommerce checkout (including WooCommerce Checkout Blocks). PRO users can also fully localize the checkout to Simplified Chinese and display multi-currency pricing in CNY.
Does the plugin support Chinese checkout localization?
Yes! With the PRO version, your entire WooCommerce checkout - including buttons, labels, form fields, cart page, and order confirmation - is automatically translated to Simplified Chinese (简体中文). No translation plugin required.
Can I show prices in Chinese Yuan (CNY)?
Yes! The PRO version features real-time multi-currency display. Prices throughout your shop, cart, and checkout show the CNY equivalent alongside your store's default currency, so Chinese customers can instantly understand pricing.
Is MemberPress supported?
Absolutely! You can offer one-time WeChat Pay and Alipay payments through your MemberPress registration.
