Built to remove barriers
Global ecommerce is hard—regulatory complexity, surprise costs, and fragmented tools create friction for your team and your customers. Checkout replaces the guesswork with a localized experience that handles duty, tax, shipping, fraud protection, and restricted items behind the scenes—so your shoppers get a seamless checkout, and your business can expand globally with confidence.
Why merchants choose Checkout for WooCommerce
Checkout was built to solve international ecommerce challenges, where trust is hard to earn. From the first moment a shopper lands on your site to the moment their order arrives, every part of Checkout works together to create a localized, low-friction experience while keeping you in control of what matters most: your brand, your margins, and your customer relationships.
Features
- Engage shoppers with Zonos Hello - Shoppers bounce fast. Zonos Hello greets them in their own language and automatically adapts your site to their currency—giving them instant confidence that you ship to their location before they even start browsing. Configurable with country-specific custom messages.
- Make global shoppers feel at home - Checkout automatically carries over the shopper’s language and currency, creating a smooth, localized checkout experience from browsing to payment. Local payment methods are built in, so shoppers can pay the way they’re used to.
- Stay in control of shipping - Who you choose to ship with is crucial to your customer experience—and your bottom line. Zonos lets you use your preferred carriers and negotiated rates. Our advanced shipment rating provides dimensional weight, cartonization, and custom shipping logic, allowing you to confidently manage shipping incentives without cutting into your margins.
- Prevent restricted item issues - Shipping restricted items can lead to customs seizures, delays, and costly support issues. Zonos removes restricted products at checkout, seamlessly avoiding these issues and ensuring customs compliance.
- Avoid surprise fees at delivery – Surprise fees at delivery damage customer trust and create costly support headaches like returned or abandoned packages. Zonos provides duty and tax calculation (including tariffs) at checkout, and guarantees that no additional costs will be due. We cover any differences, protecting your customers and your margins. Plus, fewer rejected packages reduce the strain on your customer support team while increasing customer satisfaction.
- Stay compliant—without the risk - Staying compliant with constantly changing global tax schemes is time-consuming and risky. With Zonos, you’re instantly compliant without even thinking about it. Zonos handles tax registration and remittance, assuming liability for low-value tax schemes like UK VAT, IOSS, and others—including any that may emerge—so you can stay focused on growth, not global tax requirements.
- Protect against international fraud - Cross-border fraud is complex and costly. Zonos Checkout includes built-in fraud protection designed specifically for international transactions—screening orders based on country-specific risk, shipping patterns, and other fraud signals. If a fraudulent order slips through, Zonos covers the loss. You stay protected, and your shoppers get a seamless, secure experience.
- Simplify your tech stack - Managing a global business often requires a combination of apps, plugins, and manual workflows to communicate between them. Zonos eliminates this complexity by consolidating a localized checkout experience, international payment processing, fraud protection, order management, tax compliance, shipment label creation and commercial invoice management into one streamlined product—reducing cost and operational overhead across your business.
