LD to Lifter copies selected LearnDash courses into new LifterLMS courses. It works in small batches (20 courses at a time) so larger sites are less likely to time out. Your existing LifterLMS content is not deleted.
You can also copy student enrollments, lesson progress, quiz attempt history (score/pass/dates), and earned course certificates. After migration, review the new courses in the LifterLMS course builder.
What gets migrated:
- Courses (title, content, excerpt, featured image, and mapped settings)
- Lessons, kept on the new LifterLMS course
- Topics, kept on that same course as extra lessons (LifterLMS has no topic type)
- Quizzes, kept on the same lesson or topic they had in LearnDash
- Quiz questions and answers
- Course, lesson, and quiz settings when LifterLMS has a matching option
- Course certificate templates (copied into LifterLMS certificate templates)
- Student enrollments for the migrated courses (optional)
- Lesson and topic completion progress for those students (optional)
- Quiz attempt history: score, pass/fail, and dates (optional)
- Earned course certificates for students who earned them in LearnDash (optional)
- Full quiz answer-by-answer attempt review (scores and dates are copied)
- Groups, assignments, essays, or forums
- Choose which courses to migrate, with Select All / Deselect All
- Optional student enrollment, progress, quiz attempts, and certificates
- Batch processing (20 courses per batch) to help avoid PHP timeouts
- Progress bar and activity log so you can see what happened
- Lessons, quizzes, and questions stay with the same course after the move
- Reset and try again if a run stops halfway
- Start is blocked until LearnDash and LifterLMS are both active

- Upload the plugin folder to
/wp-content/plugins/ - Activate the plugin through the Plugins menu in WordPress
- Make sure LearnDash LMS and LifterLMS are both active
- Go to LD to Lifter in the admin sidebar
- Select the courses to migrate and click Start Migration
- Wait for the progress bar to reach 100%
- Open LifterLMS and confirm lessons, quizzes, and questions are on the new course
常见问题:
Will this overwrite existing LifterLMS content?
No. The migrator creates new LifterLMS posts and does not delete existing LifterLMS content. If you run it again on the same LearnDash courses, courses that were already copied are skipped instead of duplicated.
Do lessons, quizzes, and questions stay on the same course?
Yes. Lessons stay on the migrated course. Quizzes stay on the lesson or topic they belonged to in LearnDash. Questions stay on that quiz. LifterLMS allows one quiz per lesson, so extra quizzes still appear in the same course as their own lessons.
Are student enrollments and progress migrated?
Yes, if you leave the student-data checkbox checked. That copies enrollments, finished lessons/topics, quiz attempt scores/dates, and awards Lifter certificates when the LearnDash course certificate was earned. Full answer-by-answer quiz review is not rebuilt.
What happens to LearnDash topics?
LifterLMS does not have topics. Each topic becomes an extra lesson on the same course, after its parent lesson.
What if migration stops halfway?
Click Reset and then Start Migration again. Batch processing helps reduce timeouts on large sites. Reset does not delete LifterLMS courses already created.
Is it safe to run on a live site?
We recommend running on a staging site first and taking a full backup before migrating.
How many courses can it handle?
The plugin uses batch processing so there is no fixed course limit. Large course libraries have been tested successfully.
