M Chart

Manage data sets via a spreadsheet interface, display them as charts via the Chart.js chart library, and embed them via a shortcode or block. Note:* Starting with M Chart version 2.0 the plugin uses a new React based UI as well as updated data parsing class. This means any third party libraries will need to be refactored to support this. Version 1.3 of the M Chart Highcharts Library has the necssary changes implemented. Note: Starting with version 1.8 the Chart.js library is no longer on the 2.x.x branch which introduces some breaking changes. This will probably only affect you if you were modifying the default Chart.js behavior in some way. Accessibility: M Chart targets WCAG 2.1 Level AA. Charts on the front end include a visually-hidden data table for screen-reader users, and a Color Blind Safe theme is bundled. Screen-reader users entering chart data should use the CSV Import feature — the spreadsheet widget has partial keyboard support but CSV import is fully accessible. • Each row in the spreadsheet is one distribution: first cell is the category, remaining cells are the values
• Min, Q1, Median, Q3, Max, whiskers, and outliers are computed automatically using the standard 1.5 x IQR rule
• Tooltips show the five-number summary on separate lines plus an outlier count when applicable
• Add additional sheets to compare distributions across groups - each sheet becomes its own dataset
• Added a "Color per data point" setting for Treemap, Column, and Bar charts
• This is only available if using a single series data set
• For example in a Column chart with a single series data set each column gets a different color cycled from the active theme palette instead of just one color for each column
• Added a setting to defer chart rendering until charts scroll into view
• Inline Chart.js charts wait to instantiate (and animate) until their container enters the viewport
• iframe-embedded charts get the native loading="lazy" attribute so they don't load until they near the viewport
• Enabled by default - uncheck the new "Defer Rendering" setting to restore the old behavior
• Refactored the Admin UI a bit to better fit the new WordPress 7 admin styles and input types
