puremetrix-analytics-0.1.23.zip and click Install Now.PureMetrix sets no analytics cookies and does not write tracking identifiers for measurement. The only optional first-party localStorage key is puremetrix_ignore, which you may set yourself to opt a browser out of sending events (documented under Excluding); it is never written automatically. Visitor hashes are generated in memory on the ingest server using a daily rotating cryptographic salt and the visitor's IP and User Agent, then discarded. Raw IP addresses are never stored — for WooCommerce/EDD purchases the order customer IP is used only to compute the same daily hash (Bearer server events), then discarded. We do not claim a blanket “no cookie banner required” — that depends on jurisdiction and your other tools (ads, chat, CMPs).
More detail: analytics without a cookie banner and why PureMetrix is privacy-friendly.
PureMetrix offers a generous free tier as well as simple, transparent pricing plans based on your monthly pageviews. Plans include site limits, custom events, ad-blocker resistance via same-origin proxy, and data export options by tier.
Yes! You can explore our Live Interactive Demo without creating an account or installing anything.
The WordPress plugin itself is distributed as free software under the GNU General Public License (GPLv2 or later), adhering to WordPress.org repository standards. The PureMetrix cloud infrastructure, ingestion backend, and dashboard platform (puremetrix.org / app.puremetrix.org) is a proprietary, hosted software-as-a-service (SaaS).
Feedback is 100% voluntary and only sent when you explicitly click "Submit Feedback" or complete the optional deactivation survey. It transmits your rating, message, versions (plugin, WP, PHP), domain, and a pseudonymous site hash to help us improve the product. It never collects passwords, database content, or visitor information.
Yes. In Settings → Advanced / Manual Configuration, you can enter any custom API Ingest Host and manual keys.
No. Connect + tracking snippet (+ optional Same-Origin Proxy) is the core. The live dashboard in WordPress admin is completely optional: it provides a fast, native in-WP dashboard preview queried directly via your secure Private Site Key API (no slow or clunky iframes). You can turn the in-admin dashboard preview off under Settings and still collect stats; open the full Cloud Explorer on PureMetrix Cloud anytime. Shared Link URLs can also optionally be configured to allow team members or clients to view stats without logging into your primary cloud account. Learn more about sharing dashboards with clients.
Not at all. The PureMetrix script is < 3 KB gzip (compared to Google Analytics' ~135 KB bundle) and loads with the async attribute, so it never delays rendering or DOMContentLoaded, even if the analytics server is slow or unreachable. It runs off the critical rendering path, keeping its impact on your Core Web Vitals (LCP, INP, and CLS) negligible. The plugin also keeps the tracker out of JS delay/combine/minify features of common optimization plugins (WP Rocket, LiteSpeed Cache, Autoptimize, SiteGround Speed Optimizer, Perfmatters, Hummingbird, W3 Total Cache, Jetpack Boost) and Cloudflare Rocket Loader; disable this with the puremetrix_optimizer_exclusions filter. Read our deep-dive on analytics script size and Core Web Vitals.
When enabled, your own website delivers the tracking script and receives the visit data under /px/ on your domain, then passes it on to PureMetrix directly from your server. That is why ad blockers rarely stop it. The proxy passes the visitor's address on to PureMetrix once, so country detection works, also when your site runs behind Cloudflare (recognized automatically, nothing to set up). Addresses that a visitor makes up are ignored. PureMetrix uses the address only for a moment to find the country and to count unique visitors, then discards it; it is never stored. If PureMetrix cannot be reached, your site keeps delivering the last working copy of the script, so your pages never wait for it. The proxy links work on both http and https. Read our full guide on same-origin reverse proxy analytics and the step-by-step install walkthrough.
Yes. In Settings → PureMetrix, the Privacy & Role Exclusions section allows you to select any WordPress user roles (such as Administrator, Editor, Author). When a user with any selected role is logged in, the tracking script is not loaded at all (only a tiny no-op stub remains, so theme code that calls puremetrix() keeps working). Read our guide on how to exclude admin traffic.
You can trigger custom events anywhere in your theme or custom plugin JavaScript. The plugin defines window.puremetrix before the tracker loads (calls are queued and sent once it is ready; for excluded roles they are ignored), so this never throws:
window.puremetrix('Newsletter Signup', { props: { form_id: 'footer_signup' } });
Custom properties go inside props. In standalone code that may run without the plugin, add the one-line queue stub first:
window.puremetrix = window.puremetrix || function () { (window.puremetrix.q = window.puremetrix.q || []).push(arguments); };
PureMetrix also automatically tracks outbound link clicks, file downloads, 404 errors, and internal site searches.
Helpful guides:
Yes. With WooCommerce active and a Private Ingest Key configured, the plugin sends a server-side Purchase event on thank-you (revenue, item count, coupon, plus customer IP/UA for hashing only). No customer names, emails, or billing addresses are included. Guides: WooCommerce sales analytics, server-side purchase tracking, and reducing WooCommerce cart abandonment.
Yes. PureMetrix works seamlessly across multisite networks. You can activate the plugin network-wide or on individual subsites, each configuring their own distinct domain and keys. Read our guides on WordPress multisite analytics and WordPress analytics for agencies.
