Click Install Now, then Activate.
Go to Settings → Spårlös and click Anslut till Spårlös (Connect).
A new tab opens at sparlos.se. Log in or create an account.
Confirm you want to connect this site. You are redirected back to the WordPress admin.

Is Spårlös a real Google Analytics alternative?

Yes. Spårlös replaces the analytics use case of Google Analytics (and GA4): pageview counts, traffic sources, top pages, country / device / browser breakdowns, UTM campaigns, goals, and funnels. It does not replace Google Search Console (search-keyword tracking) or Google Ads conversion pixels, which are separate products.

Is the plugin GDPR compliant?

Yes, by design. Spårlös sets no cookies, stores no IP addresses, runs no fingerprinting, and processes all data inside the EU on ISO 27001 certified data centers. A Data Processing Agreement compliant with GDPR Article 28 is generated at signup. No data transfers to the United States, so Schrems II concerns do not apply.

Do I need to display a cookie banner?

No. Spårlös sets no cookies and stores no IP addresses or other direct identifiers, so no banner is required under the standard interpretation of GDPR plus ePrivacy. This typically restores 30 to 60 percent of visitors that a cookie banner would otherwise lose to "reject all".

Does it work with WooCommerce?

Yes. The plugin tracks WooCommerce pageviews like any other pages. Product views, cart, checkout, and thank-you pages all show up in the dashboard. You can set goals on /cart/, /checkout/, or /order-received/ URLs to track funnel drop-off.

Will the plugin slow down my site?

What does proxy mode do?

By default the tracker script is loaded from sparlos.se. Some ad blockers match on that hostname and block legitimate first-party analytics. Proxy mode makes your own WordPress site serve the script from a path on your own domain, so blockers cannot match. WordPress proxies the request to Spårlös internally. Enable it under Advanced on the settings page. It is on by default for new installations.

What happens if I uninstall the plugin?

The tracker snippet stops loading and all plugin options are removed from WordPress. Your data on Spårlös and your account are not touched. Log in to sparlos.se separately if you want to remove that too.

Does the plugin work on multilingual sites?

Yes. Tracking happens per page view regardless of language. WPML, Polylang and similar plugins are supported without extra configuration.

Can I track multiple WordPress sites?

Yes. Install the plugin on each site and connect them all to the same Spårlös account. The number of sites depends on your plan (Hobby: 1, Starter: 3, Pro: 5, Custom: unlimited).

Do I need pretty permalinks?

Recommended. If WordPress is set to "Plain" permalinks (URLs like /?p=123), every page has the same path and Spårlös records them all as a single "/" entry. The settings page shows a warning if this is detected, with a one-click link to fix it.
